The God of Thunder*

When we asked The God of Thunder if he would like to write a small biog for his webpage, he replied, “No!” He is not the friendliest of souls (nor do we know, for sure, that he has a soul) and his personal odour is distinctive and long-lasting but, we have to admit, he does know his music.

The goaty one grew up during a time when radio ruled, and pirates sailed on the wireless waves. In those days, radio was not just something in the background, it was the focus. The presenters were passionate and knowledgeable about what they played and they didn’t just settle for compilation albums of all the stuff you’ve heard ad nauseum. As he often says, “I had some of the best Online Tutors, ever!” His knowledge of Rock, Metal, obscure ‘70s Italian Prog, and Blues is vast and his choice of tracks is always interesting and rarely predictable. He also plays R’n’B, Soul, Northern Soul, Funk, Punk, ZamRock, Highlife, you name it, he’s probably got some of it. Then, he also has some really weird stuff from all over the place, too, from as far back as the 1920s. Even if he does play something you know, it won’t be what you expect. If you want to hear radio like back when you were young, that treats you like a grown up, and plays great music both old and new, check out The GoT! Once you get past the inherent goatiness of it all, and as long as you don’t scare easily, he might just surprise you.

Being The God of Thunder, he likes to air his views and share his wisdom on all matters. He has even been known to play a request or two, but only if he approves of your choice. One thing is for sure, it’s never dull when he is on air. We still don’t understand his fascination for NASCAR though…

No goats were harmed in the writing of this biog.

*The God of Thunder’s opinions are all his own. We’d tell him, but we’re scared of him.
